Tabletopper Labs is an Australian based company, and primarily a disability service provider, with a platform that helps participants utilise NDIS funding to access online and in-person Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPG). These capacity building games vary in theme, style, and duration. From 10 week campaigns where Tabletoppers embark on harrowing journeys, to our more lighthearted and fun single-session experiences, we aim to provide something for everyone. Tabletopper Labs wants to share our passion of TTRPG’s with the world, creating safe environments that focus on positive social engagement where participants feel comfortable to express themselves creatively.
These games are typically played around a table, but they can also be played online. TTRPG’s involve players using their creativity, imagination, and a set of rules to navigate through a story crafted by a Game Master (GM). Our games are also reviewed by a Psychologist to ensure evidence-based practice in our approach, accommodating individuals of all ages and skills levels; we take pride in teaching newcomers the ropes.

Why Tabletopper Labs?
Tabletopper Labs foster creativity, teamwork, and communication. Co-created by a psychologist specifically for individuals with disabilities, we provide a supportive environment designed to empower participants in exploring their potential and embrace the joy of role-playing. We not only provide this service as a stepping stone for those who may have limited access to traditional group settings, and for those whom find it challenging to engage with others, but also for the seasoned enthusiasts. From beginners to experts, to those just curious to see what Tabletopper Labs is about, all are welcome!
Our original and tested campaigns/single-sessions are delivered in exciting and imaginative ways with the guidance of evidence based studies. These studies conclude tabletop role playing games can be a positive way for children, adolescents and young adults to develop social skills. They summarise that TTRPG’s provide opportunities to practice social skills in a safe and supportive environment and can help participants develop a sense of empathy and perspective-taking. Most importantly, its a capturing, enigmatic, healthy and fun activity for participants to enjoy for the short or long term.

What setup is required

ONLINE
Discord: Video, Audio and Text Chat
A truly immersive play experience. You’ll be able to see and hear every detail of your next game session with crystal-clear clarity facilitated by Discord. Integrated text chat and direct messaging lets players and game masters communicate in both public and private channels.
Play on Any Device
A complete, easy, and un-compromised play experience for running every game on any device. Desktop, laptop and tablet are preferred; however, phone is also suitable. Webcam is required to participate.
New Player Orientation Provided
One to one orientation session with the game master for campaign commencement. In just 30 minutes, unlock the skills and knowledge needed to have unforgettable gaming experiences!
Maps, Tokens, and Drawing
Participants are key players on a dynamic third-party map. Guided by the Game Master, they navigate through selectively revealed paths AKA ‘fog of war’; while tokens and images enhance immersion, making every moment an exciting mystery. (Relevant to certain games)

Create your own unique character in a variety of games! Manage your character’s stats, abilities, equipment and watch them grow.

GENERAL
Campaign Development
Our unique campaigns are developed with Allied Health Professional oversight, in particular a Psychologist. This helps to ensure that all content is age related and appropriate for developmental age. Our focus is on Capacity Building and helping participants to improve their functional capacity, specifically their social skills.
Safety Tools
We offer an array of internal and external features employed by our Game Masters and oversight team to ensure a secure and supportive gaming environment. Play with peace of mind, knowing that safety and respect are our top priorities.
